Given the recent dustup by Brit Hume of Fix Noise concerning whether or not Tiger Woods should remain a Buddhist (here), I thought it would be instructive to look at past pronouncements from the right-wing commentator about matters somewhat related to faith.
1) Would you say that Hume is acting like a “steward of the Earth” in any way here?
2) Also, is this something that could be filed under failing to “turn the other cheek”?
3) I also believe the “good book” said something about “speaking truth to power,” or similar words – I guess, then, that Hume would fall short of that here, wouldn’t he?
4) Finally, I believe the Bible also noted something about “the jaw bone of an ass” related to this Hume moment – insert your snark here.
For me personally, whenever I read of Hume’s foibles of this type, I recall the following Scripture quote:
“Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.” – Proverbs 26:12
